This initiative was established in 2011 as a coordinating and integrating strategic platform, open to all EU Member States and Associated Countries who invest in marine and maritime research. JPI Oceans covers all European sea basins with 21 participating countries which provide a long-term integrated approach to marine and maritime research and technology development in Europe. In the near future, the VIVALDI partners will investigate possible synergies between the VIVALDI project and this initiative.
French-German cooperation programme studying the impact of environmental changes on pathogen organisms in coastal ecosystems.
The two core objectives of BIVALIFE were:
to provide innovative knowledge related to pathogens infecting oysters and mussels and
to develop practical approaches for the control of infectious diseases and resulting mortality outbreaks these pathogens induce.
This project aimed at reducing the gap between sciences and European shellfish farmers, and better understand their approach to the problems they are facing.
