Colleen Burge (Maryland University-USA) participated in a meeting with some VIVALDI partners. The discussion with the American researcher opened interesting comparison opportunities, as the shellfish industry is not organised the same way in the US and in Europe.
Ryan Carnegie (Virginia Institute of Marine Science-USA) exchanged on VIVALDI with the Ifremer team in La Tremblade at the occasion of a 6-week stay. The exchange focused in particular on shellfish disease monitoring.
Ryan Carnegie is giving a presentation called : "Using surveillance data to gain insight into the nature and evolution of host-parasite interactions” at the VIVALDI workshop on Bivalve diseases: pathogen diversity and emergence - Crossed-experiences on how to better detect diseases in bivalves in Europe and North America.
