Proyecto VIVALDI

Presentación

VIVALDI (prevención y mitigación de enfermedades en los cultivos de bivalvos) es un proyecto científico europeo financiado en el ámbito del Programa Marco de Investigación e Innovación de la Unión Europea, denominado Horizonte 2020. Un consorcio de 21 adherentes o socios de 10 países lleva a cabo este proyecto. Tendrá una duración de 4 años, hasta febrero de 2020.

7 especies son estudiadas in VIVALDI: Ostión del Pacifico, ostra plana, mejillón mediterráneo, mejillón común, almeja, berberechos y vieira.

Main results from VIVALDI

Early detection of pathogens affecting shellfish, strengthening the immune defences of oysters, identifying individuals which that are more resistant to certain diseases and environmental factors with an impact on mortality episodes, etc… The European research project Vivaldi is coming to a close, with numerous scientific results and recommendations for better management of shellfish diseases.
